A total of 118 minors were charged between 2024 and 2025 in Venezuela for offenses covered by the anti-hate law, according to a report published on October 6, 2026 by the portal AlbertoNews. The period coincides with the post-election crisis that followed the proclamation of Nicolás Maduro for a new presidential term, according to data from the NGO Cecodap.

Carlos Trapani, Cecodap's general coordinator, warned on his account on X that this is not merely a statistic, but adolescents who suffered the impact of a justice system that failed to meet the minimum guarantees established in the LOPNNA (Organic Law for the Protection of Children and Adolescents).

The statement from the child protection organization comes after Delcy Rodríguez requested a reform of the anti-hate regulations, an initiative that has drawn rejection from various political sectors and social organizations, which demand its full repeal on the grounds that it violates freedom of expression.

Separately, the NGO Foro Penal documented that at least 927 people have been charged with incitement to hatred since the law was passed in 2017, a legal instrument that various human rights organizations have repeatedly described as a mechanism of persecution against political dissent.
