Aeroméxico plans to resume Caracas flights in 2027

Aeroméxico plans to restore its direct connections to Caracas during the first quarter of 2027. The Mexican airline's plan is contingent on obtaining pending government permits from aviation authorities.

The company's chief executive, Andrés Conesa, explained at the Leaders' Forum of the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) that the adjustment to the original timeline was due to operational repercussions following the earthquakes recorded in June 2026. The company's initial intention had been to return by the end of 2026.

Commercial air connectivity between Mexico and Venezuela has been suspended on previous occasions, which has limited the direct flow of passengers and business travelers between the two capitals. Restoring these commercial routes facilitates the mobility of people and corporate exchange in the region.

If the operation goes ahead, the airline expects to use Boeing 737-8 aircraft to serve the route between Mexico City and Caracas, pending the formalization of final schedules with regulatory bodies.
