Journalist Reynaldo Mozo, of the outlet Efecto Cocuyo, was attacked on Thursday, October 22, during an opposition demonstration in Caracas.
According to a complaint from the National Union of Press Workers (SNTP), Mozo was accused of being an infiltrator by Richard Blanco (son) and forcibly removed from the stage where political leaders were making statements.
Despite attempts by other reporters to defend Mozo and to describe the incident as an act of hostility, supporters accompanying the leaders also joined in the attacks against the press team.
The incident took place within the framework of a mobilization called to demand an electoral timetable and presidential elections for 2027, an activity that has heightened tensions in the coverage of political events in the country.
