The US company Amazon will allocate 16 billion euros to Germany in 2027 to expand its technology and logistics infrastructure, according to the portal Banca y Negocios. The announcement includes the expansion of data centers, artificial intelligence projects, high-speed satellite internet services and the creation of new distribution centers across German territory.
The commitment was made public at the Invest in Germany summit, a forum organized by the German government to attract international capital. The initiative seeks to strengthen the country's position in the global technology race by improving the digital infrastructure required by businesses and municipalities. The German Ministry of Economy's representatives welcomed these investments for their capacity to generate added value and boost the competitiveness of the local productive fabric.
The planned outlay adds to the 100 billion euros the corporation has channeled into the German economy since 2010. Germany is thus consolidating its position as one of the strategic continental markets for the North American firm, which maintains operational research centers in key areas such as robotics and artificial intelligence in Berlin.
Going forward, attention will turn to monitoring the effective execution of the announced projects and the ability of local companies to integrate this digital infrastructure into their production processes.
