Andrés Bilbao sees a more favorable outlook for Venezuela from January 3

The economic outlook for Venezuela is potentially more favorable starting January 3, said Andrés Bilbao, co-founder of the transport and delivery app Rappi, according to a report by the daily El Estímulo on October 22, 2026. The remarks were made at the Inmersivo Ejecutivo 30X entrepreneurship training program, held in Caracas for the second time this year.

The program, created by Daniel Bilbao of the platform Truora, Dylan Rosemberg of Growth Rockstar and Andrés Bilbao, seeks to connect founders with new opportunities in an environment marked by the search for local added value and the revival of commercial projects. The initiative brings together local entrepreneurs to strengthen their business models amid the structural limitations of the domestic market.

This optimism about the investment climate contrasts with everyday indicators of purchasing power. According to data from the Centro de Documentación y Análisis Social of the Federación Venezolana de Maestros (Cendas-FVM), reported by the daily Descifrado on October 22, 2026, the family food basket rose to $761.35 in September, an increase of 0.79% from $755.36 reported in August.

The gap between the expectations of corporate players and the reality of mass consumption occurs in a context where a high country risk premium makes credit more expensive and deters investment, limiting households' capacity to absorb inflation measured in foreign currency. Financing constraints and the lack of liquidity in the national banking system continue to weigh on small businesses and consumers.

Going forward, it will be necessary to watch how private capital flows evolve and whether new ventures can be sustained against a cost of living that continues to pressure family incomes.
