Coffee growers in Portuguesa and Lara demand fair prices for harvest
Coffee producers in the states of Portuguesa and Lara are maintaining an indefinite mobilization to demand fair prices for the harvest and respect for the agreed price tables for the sector.

Coffee producers in the states of Portuguesa and Lara are maintaining an indefinite mobilization to demand fair prices for the harvest and respect for the agreed price tables for the sector, according to the portal Banca y Negocios, which reported on October 19, 2026.
The day of protest began with a massive gathering in Villa Araure, from where farmers marched in a caravan to the José Antonio Páez highway to draw attention to their demands in light of the economic difficulties facing the primary sector.
Later, the protesters moved the demonstration in front of the facilities of the Grupo Botalón roasting plant, where they held an all-night vigil while awaiting concrete responses from authorities and the processing industry.
Félix Saavedra, spokesman for the coffee sector, confirmed that the pressure campaign will continue until effective commitments are reached on the value of the harvest, warning that the lack of agreements puts the sustainability of national production at risk in the agricultural municipalities of the region.
