The Tuy III system has completed the corrective work needed to restart water supply in Caracas, Miranda and La Guaira, the portal AlbertoNews reported. According to a press release from the government of Miranda state, cited by the outlet, service resumed gradually on Tuesday, October 14.
The president of Hidrocapital, Claudio Bastiani, said that since October 11 a specialized team had carried out forty-one optimization tasks. These included checking the structure of the line and preventive maintenance of valves, air vents and equipment, as well as of the Caujarito water treatment plant, located in the region.
The Tuy III system is one of the main sources of drinking water supply for the capital region and its adjacent areas. Maintenance shutdowns in this network tend to cause prolonged interruptions in supply, directly affecting households and businesses that depend on the service for their daily activities.
After the pumping system was reactivated under safety measures, authorities estimated that service will be fully restored progressively over the course of the day.
