Delcy Rodríguez arrives at FAO World Food Forum in Rome

Delcy Rodríguez arrived in Rome on October 11 to take part in the World Food Forum of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), according to SWI swissinfo.ch. In remarks to Venezolana de Televisión, the president highlighted the importance the country attaches to food as a fundamental human right and said that progress is being made toward the goal of zero hunger.

The World Food Forum is the FAO's flagship platform aimed at transforming agrifood systems through investment, science and innovation. This year's edition is held under the motto "Innovate today. Feed tomorrow" and brings together international delegations with the aim of consolidating partnerships and solutions in the agricultural production sector.

During the gathering in the Italian capital, which runs through October 16, the delegation was received by Máximo Torero, chief economist of the FAO and coordinator of the meeting. The working sessions will address mechanisms to accelerate productive efficiency and promote cooperation projects in Latin America and other developing regions.
