The start of the Christmas season in Venezuela was led on November 2, 2026, by President Delcy Rodríguez at Paseo Los Próceres in Caracas. The route covered Avenida Los Ilustres and included several ministers and local officials, creating a space for families and food entrepreneurs who drive the local economy during the December holiday season.
The cultural program featured live performances of parrandas (traditional Christmas carolling groups), drumming and ensembles of traditional gaitas (Venezuelan folk music). The festivities ended with the traditional countdown to the simultaneous lighting of the Cruz del Warairarepano and the LED lighting system of the monumental complex, which includes decorative tunnels, illuminated monoliths and the central tree.
This lighting marks the formal start of Christmas lights across the entire country, opening the way for popular gatherings of relatives and friends in public spaces nationwide over the coming weeks.
