Delcy Rodríguez will speak this Wednesday, September 23, at the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) in New York, according to the outlet NTN24. Venezuela's slot was moved up by one day from the original schedule, with her speech set for 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium (local time in both New York and Caracas).
Alongside the UN diplomatic agenda, the official held a private meeting in the U.S. capital with President Donald Trump, accompanied by cabinet members such as Marco Rubio and Scott Bessent, according to the portal Bitácora Económica. The meeting comes after the military incursion in Caracas on January 3.
On the financial front, the bilateral dialogue table contemplates moves involving international assets. In that process, Efecto Cocuyo reported discussions over $4 billion in gold tied to reserves held abroad.
Recovering assets abroad is crucial to provide liquidity to an economy weighed down by years of international financial restrictions and a contraction of the local productive apparatus.
