Daniel Kennedy, adviser to the Bureau of Economic Affairs at the U.S. State Department, toured the Bachaquero Field in Zulia state with Alejandro Betancourt López, president of NABEP, according to AlbertoNews. The visit was carried out as part of the follow-up on oil projects linked to the energy agreement between the two countries.
During the inspection of Petrozamora's facilities, the delegations assessed the operations of the Bachaquero Lago compression module and reviewed initiatives aimed at raising hydrocarbon output. Betancourt had previously said that technical and operational teams from NABEP and PDVSA have carried out continuous oversight to incorporate new projects in Zulia's oil fields.
In regional news on Latin America's hydrocarbon industry, Bloomberg Línea reported on operating performance in the oil sector of South America, where major companies project a steady increase in extraction supported by larger investments and transport infrastructure.
Monitoring these extraction areas aims to consolidate the region's energy infrastructure. The presence of U.S. officials at Venezuelan oil fields reflects the revival of commercial and institutional dynamics in the local oil industry, whose development requires operational stability.
