Banco Digital de los Trabajadores climbs to seventh place among Venezuelan banks in September

Banco Digital de los Trabajadores (BDT) moved up one position in the asset ranking of Venezuelan banking and closed September 2026 as the seventh-largest institution, according to figures from the consultancy Aristimuño Herrera y Asociados reported by the portal Banca y Negocios.

The bank recorded year-on-year growth of 459% in bolívares and 16% in dollars, reaching a market share of 3.4%. Its total assets stood at 397,227.4 million bolívares (US$462.4 million), with a monthly increase of 17.6% in local currency, above the system average.

This momentum in financial intermediation was also reflected in its loan book, which closed the period at 115,043.1 million bolívares (US$133.9 million). This represents a year-on-year increase of 532.6% in bolívares and 31% in dollars, allowing the bank to keep seventh place in the ranking with a 3.1% share.

The nominal growth in bolívares contrasts with the changes in dollar terms, which offer a more accurate picture of the country's inflationary dynamics. The bank also directed these resources to support recovery initiatives, including the first disbursements of financing under the Plan Venezuela Renace for families affected by the June earthquake.
