Experts outline a roadmap for mining investment in Venezuela

According to the portal Descifrado, independent consultant Oswaldo J. Ruiz and the Venezuelan Society of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers presented a new proposal with twelve key aspects for structuring mining activity in Venezuela. The initiative starts from the premise that turning the country's geological potential into concrete projects requires strict operational and financial requirements.
The proposal comes in a global context in which extractive industries depend on solid regulatory frameworks. Among the main points flagged by the guild are governance and legality, with priority given to legal certainty over the holding of mineral rights and the transfer of titles against the risk of expropriation.
Likewise, the analysis published by Descifrado highlights that any project in the sector must meet strict international compliance standards, financial risk management and anti-money laundering rules in order to operate in global markets.
