Government weighs paying up to 12 additional bonuses in 2026

The national government could disburse between 8 and 12 additional bonuses in the last two months of 2026 in an effort to stimulate domestic consumption, according to economist Leonardo Soto, who spoke in an interview with Banca y Negocios.

The strategy of relying on extraordinary bonuses aims to inject liquidity into a period of high commercial activity, although several labor unions have warned of the need for permanent income that protects purchasing power against inflation and the cost of living.

Meanwhile, the Banco Central de Venezuela (BCV) set the official dollar rate at 891.11 bolívares and the euro rate at 997.92 bolívares for the trading day of November 3, 2026, maintaining an official exchange-rate scheme that analysts urge be reviewed to avoid distortions in the real economy.
