Nueva Esparta hotels say they are ready for tourism
The hotel sector in the Venezuelan state of Nueva Esparta is prepared to serve domestic and international visitors, according to Roger Grandin, president of the state's hotel chamber (Cahotel).

The hotel sector in the Venezuelan state of Nueva Esparta is prepared to serve domestic and international visitors, according to statements by Roger Grandin, president of the state's hotel chamber (Cahotel).
Grandin said that establishments have the services needed to ensure visitors' stays on Margarita Island. The union leader said the sector self-manages failures in the electricity and water supply using its own equipment, preventing problems with public infrastructure from affecting guests' experience.
Meanwhile, the start of flights to the island by airline Copa Airlines is boosting the reactivation of lodging capacity that had been idle because of the national economic contraction.
The self-management of basic services allows the private sector to keep regional tourism operating, internally absorbing the shortcomings of local public services.
