Venezuela's coffee harvest to grow 15% in 2026-2027

Venezuela's coffee harvest for the 2026-2027 season has begun, with projected growth of 15% over the previous period, according to Banca y Negocios. The start of the agricultural cycle was attended by officials from the productive sector in the mountainous areas of Lara state, considered the core of the country's coffee production.

Coffee is a traditional crop of great importance to the rural economy. The activity involves direct fieldwork, processing of the bean and distribution through commercial chains. Sustaining productive yields requires constant technical assistance and agricultural inputs to avoid disruptions in the supply chain.

The regional picture shows complex dynamics for the coffee sector. According to data published by La República, production in Colombia fell by between 10% and 15%, affected by international market conditions and exchange-rate movements that reduced export revenue by 2 trillion in that country.

For Venezuelan producers, the central challenge is to consolidate grain quality and secure profitable prices that cover operating costs. Going forward, the supply behavior of global competitors such as Brazil and Vietnam will determine the sector's ability to place its product in international markets.
