The digital economy of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will reach $2 trillion by 2030, according to state broadcaster Telesur, which reported the figure on October 15, 2026.
This growth is underpinned by the rapid expansion of e-commerce, digital financial services and technology adoption in one of the world's most dynamic regions in terms of population and trade.
The projection puts the sector's volume at an unprecedented level for the countries that make up the Asian bloc, reflecting a profound transformation in consumption and production patterns.
To gauge the impact, the transition toward an integrated digital economy aims to consolidate the region's technological infrastructure and narrow connectivity gaps between member markets.
Institutionally, the region is moving toward signing the world's first regional digital economy agreement, scheduled for November 2026.
