OECD raises 2026 global growth forecast to 2.9%
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) raised its global growth forecast for 2026 to 2.9%, up from the 2.6% it estimated in June.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) raised its global growth forecast for 2026 to 2.9%, up from the 2.6% it estimated in June, according to the portal Banca y Negocios on September 24, 2026. For 2027, the organization cut its projection to 3%, below the 3.1% it had previously forecast.
The upward revision reflects the global economy's greater capacity to absorb the initial shocks, driven by the adjustment in oil markets and robust investment in technology. The outlet said global oil demand fell by about 6 million barrels per day compared with levels before the crisis.
Despite the resilience shown in the face of the energy shock, the organization warned that persistent tensions in the Middle East keep inflation risks elevated. In G20 countries, inflation will reach nearly 4% before easing to 3.6% in 2027, according to data published by Banca y Negocios.
Meanwhile, specialized outlets such as Valora Analitik have warned of volatility in hydrocarbon markets as geopolitical conflicts drag on. Added to this are higher yields on long-term government debt, a factor that raises the cost of financing for governments and productive sectors.
