OPEC keeps December production targets unchanged

Seven members of the OPEC+ oil producers' group agreed to keep production quotas unchanged for December, according to Bloomberg Línea's coverage dated November 2, 2026, after lifting the last voluntary cuts in September.

Although crude shipments through the Strait of Hormuz have increased and an alternative Saudi export route through the Red Sea was reactivated in October, members in the Persian Gulf continue to face operational constraints that prevent them from taking advantage of higher production targets, according to the same report.

Meanwhile, the regional energy industry is seeking to incorporate new technological tools to optimize its operations. According to France 24, the state-owned oil company ADNOC has signed an alliance with OpenAI to integrate advanced artificial intelligence models by analyzing historical data on oil fields, reserves and facilities.

This strategy coincides with the United Arab Emirates' goal of establishing itself as a leader in artificial intelligence, in a context in which the regional oil sector is navigating between capacity constraints and global logistical tensions.
