Argentina's exports top US$10 billion in a single month for the first time

Argentina's exports surpassed the US$10 billion mark in a single month for the first time, Bloomberg Línea reported on Monday. According to the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), foreign sales reached US$10.04 billion in September, a year-on-year increase of 23.5% compared with the same period of 2025.

The rise was driven mainly by export prices, which climbed 16.4%, and by volumes sold, which increased 6.1%. Meanwhile, imports fell 1.8% year on year to US$7.06 billion, leaving a trade surplus of US$2.98 billion for the month.

The trade performance consolidates a long-running trend. According to El Cronista, the trade balance has recorded 34 consecutive months of positive balances, reflecting a profound shift in the country's foreign-exchange structure.

The energy sector led the expansion, with sales rising 89.1% year on year to US$1.78 billion. According to INDEC, this historic jump reflected higher shipments of crude oil and gas, supported by a 33.4% increase in prices for the sector and a 39.8% increase in volumes exported.
