LATAM Airlines to resume direct flights between Santiago and Caracas in 2027

LATAM Airlines will resume direct flights between Santiago de Chile and Caracas starting January 3, 2027, with four weekly frequencies, according to the news portal AlbertoNews. The move aims to expand air connectivity between the two countries after a decade without direct flights.

The route will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with an estimated duration of six hours and 40 minutes, using Airbus A320neo aircraft. These planes have a capacity for 174 passengers, distributed across 12 Economy Premium seats and 162 Economy seats, according to the information released.

The nonstop service represents a change from the arrangement in place earlier this year. According to data published by the outlet, LATAM had not operated directly between the two capitals since 2016, and in February 2026 it had restored the route but with a stopover in Bogotá.

The airline projects it will carry more than 50,000 passengers during the first year of operation of the new route. This connection will join LATAM Airlines Colombia's existing service between Bogotá and Caracas, which operates one daily frequency.

The new flights are already available for sale through the company's official channels and travel agencies.
