Venezuela lifts temporary suspension on agricultural drone use
Minister of Productive Agriculture and Lands Vladimir Padrino López said on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, that the temporary suspension on drone use dating from 2025 had been lifted, in response to requests from Venezuelan agricultural producers, according to Bitácora Económica.

The Venezuelan government has lifted the temporary suspension on drone use in the agricultural sector that had been imposed in 2025, according to Bitácora Económica. The measure aims to allow the use of remotely piloted aircraft for essential field tasks, such as fertilization, irrigation and crop monitoring.
According to information released by Vladimir Padrino López, reactivating these technological tools in agriculture requires operators to obtain the corresponding permits from the Instituto Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil (INAC). Users must also hold their respective certificate, insurance policy and adequate training to operate the equipment under current legal regulations.
On the international cooperation front, acting president Delcy Rodríguez met in Italy with Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Qu Dongyu, according to the outlet Descifrado. The two sides assessed strategies aimed at strengthening food security and agricultural development in the country.
The adoption of technology in farming is a key factor in optimizing productive yields and reducing operating costs across the different stages of the planting and harvesting cycle.
