Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro tied at 50% of the vote
Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva called on young and older voters to mobilize for Brazil's presidential runoff.

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva called on young and older voters to mobilize for Brazil's presidential runoff. During a live broadcast on social media alongside lawmaker André Janones, the president sought to rally support through a messaging channel that counts 8.5 million users.
The appeal aims to reduce electoral abstention in a context of high political polarization. Social media strategies have become a key tool for candidates to build community networks, win over undecided voters and coordinate on-the-ground logistics before election day.
With the runoff three days away, the race remains in a dead heat. According to data published by AlbertoNews, a poll by the firm Datafolha shows Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro tied at 50% of valid votes. In the first round, Flávio Bolsonaro won 47% of the ballots. Likewise, according to data cited by La Tercera, the senator registered 51% voter intention against 49% for the president the previous week.
A decisive factor for both campaigns is winning over voters who did not go to the polls. Abstention in the first round reached 21%, which represents 33.5 million Brazilians. Meanwhile, BBC Mundo reported that the Brazilian contest has also drawn international attention, with remarks from U.S. President Donald Trump about the electoral process.
