The region has faced a water supply crisis since February due to the blockage of the transfer tunnel of the area's main water complex. The initiative seeks to improve care for patients with mild and moderate diarrheal illnesses in coordination with the Ministry of Health.
The donation includes high-capacity electric pumps, air conditioning units and faucet fittings to optimize sanitation infrastructure in Sucre municipality, which accounts for more than half of the state's population.
As part of the international response to the water emergency declared in March by the state government, the European Union donated 150,000 euros to help the most affected sectors, according to the same outlet.
