Pedro Sánchez says Spain will repeat Lula's electoral comeback in Brazil
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez congratulated President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Monday on his victory in Brazil's presidential election and said he would replicate that triumph in Spain's general election on November 29.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez congratulated President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Monday on his victory in Brazil's presidential election and said he would replicate that triumph in Spain's general election on November 29, according to Diario ABC.
"What has happened in Brazil will also happen in Spain. The comeback of global progressivism has just begun," Sánchez said in a message on the social network X, according to information reported by Diario ABC. The head of government called Lula's result, after defeating his opponent in the runoff, a great victory.
Separately, reports from France 24 detail that the Brazilian administration will inherit an economy marked by considerable fiscal challenges, including a fiscal deficit of about 9.5% and public debt of around 83% of GDP. France 24's projections also point to annual inflation of 4.58%, interest rates of around 14% and slowing economic growth.
Analysts at BBC Mundo note that the election result defied initial forecasts thanks to strategic changes in the campaign between the first round and the runoff. Priorities for the new term will include the tax reform planned for 2027 and a reorientation of trade.
