The Unitary Platform on Sunday, October 18, 2026, ratified María Corina Machado as the leader of Venezuela's democratic forces ahead of a transition process in the country, alongside Edmundo González Urrutia, according to the outlet El Pitazo.
The opposition coalition presented a 14-point agreement that calls for the release of political prisoners, the defense of the vote and support for sectors pushing for an institutional exit.
The document also prohibits indefinite reelection in executive posts and adopts alternation in power as a non-negotiable principle to ensure political renewal.
For its part, political organizations such as Vente Venezuela have expressed support for July 24, 2027, as the date for presidential elections in the country, a debate that remains open among the various opposition actors.
