Gasoline prices under Trump surpass Biden's average
The average price American consumers pay for gasoline under the administration of Donald Trump has surpassed the average level left by former president Joe Biden.

The average price American consumers pay for gasoline under the administration of Donald Trump has surpassed the average level left by former president Joe Biden, according to the outlet Bloomberg Línea.
During his campaign, the current president had pledged to bring fuel costs below 2 dollars a gallon. However, after almost two years in office, the average retail price has reached 3.472 dollars a gallon, according to data from the American Automobile Association (AAA).
That figure exceeded the average under Joe Biden's administration, which stood at 3.471 dollars a gallon, by less than a cent. The recent increase reflects the impact of geopolitical conflicts and constraints on global refining capacity, a trend that is hitting American households' cost of living hard.
Against this inflationary backdrop, average prices at US service stations have risen 43% over the past eight months, while diesel has jumped nearly 70%, according to data published by Bloomberg Línea. Meanwhile, the daily El Nacional reported that the G7 countries agreed to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil from their emergency reserves to ease pressure on the energy market.
