Venezuela's Ministry of Health held a strategic meeting with representatives of the United Nations System (UN) and the Foreign Ministry to optimize health care in the country, according to La iguana TV.
The meeting was attended by Health Minister Carlos Alvarado and the UN resident coordinator in Venezuela, Álvaro Rodríguez, along with delegates from the Foreign Ministry and the Health Cluster. The purpose of the meeting was to consolidate multilateral cooperation and coordinate operational plans aimed at improving public policies in the sector.
Coordination with international organizations seeks to channel technical and logistical resources to strengthen the public health system, a key area for guaranteeing access to treatments and basic services for the Venezuelan population.
These working groups are part of the regular oversight and humanitarian assistance mechanisms that the UN maintains with various ministries to mitigate structural shortcomings in the national hospital network.
