U.S. Commerce undersecretary visits Hospital Vargas

U.S. Undersecretary of Commerce David L. Fogel visited Caracas's Hospital Vargas to inspect new medical equipment installed by Philips and its local partner Meditron C.A., according to Banca y Negocios. The inspection covered CT scanners, ultrasound systems and diagnostic and treatment technologies.

The equipment is meant to strengthen the operational capacity of healthcare services at the hospital. According to data published by the financial outlet, the Dutch technology company allocates more than 40% of its global research and development spending to its facilities on U.S. soil, the infrastructure from which the creation of these medical tools was driven.

The arrival of this specialized equipment points to expanding diagnostic coverage across the public hospital network. Operating the equipment will require trained personnel and continuous supplies to ensure its sustained functioning over time.
