Swiss industrial engineering and manufacturing company Sulzer signed a five-year agreement with Petróleos de Venezuela S.A.

Swiss industrial engineering and manufacturing company Sulzer signed a five-year agreement with Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) to develop essential industrial infrastructure in the country, according to the portal Banca y Negocios.
The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration on possible future orders from all of the state oil company's operations, spanning from exploration and production to pipeline transport, refining and fuel distribution.
The technical deployment seeks to support operations in a context where national oil production stands at 1.25 million barrels per day, according to figures published by El Nacional.
Sulzer's chief executive, Suzanne Thoma, said the company's long presence in Venezuelan territory has allowed it to acquire a deep understanding of local operational needs in order to contribute to the long-term development of the industry.
