The Teletón Unidos por Venezuela raised $2,370,017 to support those affected by the double earthquake of June 24, according to the private broadcaster Venevisión (the initiative's organizer), in data compiled by the portal Banca y Negocios on October 19, 2026. The charity marathon surpassed its initial goal of $1,500,000 and its second target of $2,250,000.
The funds raised will be channeled through the platform of United Way Worldwide and its local executing arm, the Dividendo Voluntario para la Comunidad, whose resources will be distributed among humanitarian institutions such as Cáritas Venezuela, the Hospital Ortopédico Infantil and Fe y Alegría, with an audit carried out by the global firm Ernst & Young.
The economic impact of the catastrophe has been profound on the country's structures. In July, the World Bank estimated direct physical damage caused by the magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes at $19.6 billion (about 16.9 billion euros), a figure equivalent to a significant fraction of national gross domestic product, compared with GDP of $99,661 million registered in 2025 and $120,566 million in 2024. The bank warned that a slow reconstruction could hold back the recovery over the next decade.
Locally, the emergency hit small productive businesses hard. The Bakers' Chamber of La Guaira reported that a total of 88 bakeries suffered material damage in that coastal state as a result of the earthquakes, according to information disseminated by the outlet Descifrado.
Faced with the challenges of reconstruction and the scale of the direct physical damage calculated by multilateral agencies, the social and community response has sought to channel emergency resources directly, while infrastructure needs persist in the areas hit by the double earthquake.
