Trump promises $5,000 checks if Republicans keep Congress
U.S. President Donald Trump said he will send $5,000 checks to every adult citizen if the Republican Party wins control of the House of Representatives and the Senate in the November 3 elections, according to the portal AlbertoNews.

U.S. President Donald Trump said he will send $5,000 checks to every adult citizen if the Republican Party wins control of the House of Representatives and the Senate in the November 3 elections, according to the portal AlbertoNews. The president said these payments will be financed with revenue from tariffs and the current economic success.
In announcements posted on the social network Truth and reproduced by the outlet, Trump acknowledged that the total cost of the measure will reach about $1 trillion, which would raise the country's fiscal deficit. To offset that impact, the president argued that investments in U.S. territory will reach $21 trillion, a figure that analysts and White House data question given its size relative to the national economy.
At the same time, the president announced a $100 subsidy for 20 million U.S. retirees to help them cover the cost of Medicare Part B, a public health program that costs $202 a month. These funds will come from the $2 billion allocated to the Medicare Improvement Fund, a fund created in 2008 to protect health benefits.
The announcements come a month before midterm elections in which polls anticipate a complex outlook for the ruling party, with the possibility of losing its majorities in Congress. Given this scenario, Trump asked voters to turn out as if his own figure were on the ballot against the Democratic opposition.
