Turkish Airlines resumes direct route between Istanbul and Maiquetía

Turkish Airlines officially resumed its direct route between Istanbul and Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, located in La Guaira state, on October 1, 2026, after a temporary suspension for adjustment work, according to the portal Banca y Negocios.

The route will operate four weekly frequencies with Boeing Dreamliner 787-900 aircraft, which have a total capacity of 300 seats divided between business and economy class, according to data published by the specialized outlet.

The first flight of this relaunch recorded passenger traffic between Venezuela's main air hub and Turkey, consolidating one of the key intercontinental routes for connectivity in the South American country.

Meanwhile, the infrastructure and services sector in Venezuela faces deep structural challenges in other critical areas, such as the electricity system, where failures and capacity gaps are reported that affect quality of life and national economic activity, according to Crónica Uno.
