Washington demands USMCA panels over medical device disputes

The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) filed a formal request for consultations under Chapter 31 of the USMCA, alleging that new Mexican regulations giving priority to state purchases of locally manufactured medicines and health supplies violate the national treatment clauses owed to U.S. companies.
