Yummy to waive commissions for its female drivers in Venezuela

Female drivers for the Yummy mobility app will receive the full earnings from each trip with no commission charged until December 31, 2026.

The measure aims to encourage women to join the passenger transport service through digital apps. On urban mobility platforms, operating commissions typically take a percentage of the final margin that the worker earns on each completed trip.

According to data published by El Diario Venezuela, women currently account for less than 4% of all active drivers on the platform in the country.

For women drivers, the temporary scheme allows them to maximize immediate financial returns in a sector characterized by flexible hours, amid the need to generate income in the local economy.

Going forward, it will be necessary to assess whether such temporary incentives can permanently increase female participation in passenger transport.
